made for the kitchen

Aprons are one of my most favorite things. I love wearing them. Mom gave me a cute, colorful one from Anthropologie. Jane gave me a precious, dainty white one from Brussels. I could wear an apron with any outfit. It spruces it up. Also, it just makes me want to cook even more than I already do.

This is my life...well, maybe one day when I can just cook all day.

a. e. wilder

My life is back. I have internet and a computer that works after months on end. As I'm loving a computer that actually works I ran into a. e. wilder on etsy. I absolutely love these little 3" or 6" wooden hoops with embroidered linen. These are perfect little reminders of wonderful people and wonderful days. I think of Claire Settle when I ever want or try to sew. She is the master. These wall hangings would be the cutest gifts at a baby shower or anywhere for that matter.

They even have growth charts starting at 2 feet going up to 6 feet. So cute!

And I would love these place mats for my kitchen table. They can be reversible. I think I would like them even more though if they were laminated or covered in some kind of wipeable cloth.

It has been so beautiful outside lately. I have not oil painted in a while and thought it would be a nice break from watercolor. I brought all my supplies downstairs to sit outside on the stone wall in such gorgeous weather to paint. Court joined me. I will miss her. She's going to Germany this summer.

Lady and the Tramp Date

Jane and I went all the way to Hamilton Place mall to get makeovers for this "formal" event. I happened to know about the Lady and the Tramp date and the twist Jackson put on it. However, Jane did not know so I wanted to play along to make it seem like we needed to get dressed up.

I was a porcelain doll with an orange face. And Jane was a glitter bomb!

All the girls were in Carter lobby at 5:45, dressed up in formal dresses.

The boys walked out looking like country hicks. These 30 boys were dressed in hick, gangsta, hill billy, thug attire. BUT they did have a rose for each of us.

They took us on this formal date to Pat's diner. This was family style dinner of chicken and dumplings and veggies. After several hours of hilarious karaoke, we went back to Covenant and watched Lady and the Tramp.

Wonderful night!

S-U-R-P-R-I-S-E

Yes, people lied big time to get me to my surprise party. Josh and Jane were so sweet to plan it. Claire made her famous key lime pie. Court made the best cookies in the world. Hope made delicious chocolate chip cookies. Jessica brought beautiful white hydrangeas and roses in a vase. And Josh drew a big sign for me. My friends are so wonderful.
